This book is a collection of lessons learned from a Runamuk mom. Heather Dugdale lives with her husband and three miniature versions of herself that she calls the Trifecta. Heather has a Juris Doctor degree and is a professional certified fundraising executive. In December 2010, Heather was given the "gift" of answering to THREE bosses (aka her children), rather than continue to work full time outside the home. Very quickly Heather learned all the dirty little secrets her stay at home mom friends never told her and in June 2011 she began chronicling her journey and the "family fun" she created through her blog, Recoveringworkingmom.com. Every mom should read this book!! Heather Dugdale writes about real life issues we all can relate to no matter what stage of motherhood we are in. This book is pee your pants funny!! I can't wait for the sequel!!
I loved this book. it is such a great "go to" item for me when I am in a predicament with my kids. It is nice to know I am not the only one out there that has a lot of chaos go on with kids but I love the tips that the author gives. Great humor too!!
As I read this book I keep having those "I wish I knew this last year" moments. Do not wait until you are in a Mommy panic. Read this book now, laugh and be glad you did now and later.
Absolutely hilarious and an honest portrayal of really happens after you are handed a baby and you realize you are not in a Johnson and Johnson baby commercial!
I found myself in so many of these antics and situations.

Heather's honest depiction of her adventures as a stay at home mom of three kids is not only funny and witty but probably the most real, honest parenting book/blog I have ever read. When everyone else is talking about all the amazing crafts, activities and perfect family moments they have, Heather pulls back to curtain to tell people what REALLY happens when you are busy mom working hard and doing the best you can for your kids. I have found her tips and suggestions very useful and I know that anyone who reads this book will truly enjoy her stories and will likely learn a trick two along the way. As moms we have all had that "mommy of the year" moment but most of us are too embarrassed to admit our mistakes.... Heather puts it out there for all to see and to laugh along (and sometimes cry along) with her.
I read this book on a flight from San Diego to Hawaii. There were a lot of laugh-out-loud moments on that flight. Having an adult daughter and two younger children, I identified with this career minded mom turned stay-at-home mom (more like work-from-home mom). Heather humbly admits to not having it all figured out, and she finds humor in parenting what she calls the Trifecta (her three daughters which she likes to refer to as the Id, The Ego, and The Super Ego). This book is full of humor, a few lessons learned the hard way, and great tips and resources. I would love to read a "Teen Years" book in several years.
